Introduction
I’ve mentioned this before, but I have an affection for “secret” sauces. I’ve even shared one in the past, though I guess it was never very secret. This is another page in the sauce catalog, but this time it’s for French fries, rather than sandwiches.
What is Fry Sauce?
Fry sauce is any sauce you made to be eaten with French fries. They’re as varied as they are tasty, with near endless possibilities. From what I hear, ketchup and mayo mixed together is a popular combination.
This is a bit more complex than that, but it’s still just mixing a few things in a bowl.
Fry Sauce: Not Just for Fries
While this is meant for French fries, it’s good on just about anything. Vegetables, burgers, or even as a salad dressing. Of course, you’ll want to double or triple the recipe if you’re using it on everything (which you totally can).
Conclusion and Recipe
Below I’ve listed the ingredients, ingredient amounts, and steps for making fry sauce. If you like this sauce, try it on some potato wedges or broccoli.
You can also follow me on Wix or Pinterest to be alerted of my new posts. My next post will be a recipe for a chicken and broccoli stir-fry. If that sounds good to you, be sure to follow 🙂
Ingredients
1 Tbsp ketchup, 17 grams
1 Tbsp ranch dressing, 16 grams
2 tsps yellow mustard*, 10 grams
2 Tbsps mayo, 28 grams
Sugar**, optional, as needed
Preparation
Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix to combine. Serve immediately***.
Notes
* Instead of yellow mustard, you could try this with dijon or spicy brown mustard.
** If you don’t add any sugar, the sauce will be quite tangy. If you want it less tangy, add 1/4 tsp (1 gram) at a time and mix well.
*** You can probably serve this warm, but I’ve never tried it. Temperature also changes flavor, so this may be better or worse if it’s served warm.
