Easy Breakfast Power Bowls

I’m not usually too into the “health food” scene; that is, unless said food is crazy easy to make. Just putting stuff in a bowl, for example, which is what these breakfast power bowls are all about. They’re also very customizable, and you can add pretty much anything you want. However, I have a few suggestions to get you started.

Firstly, any kind of fresh fruit would be great. Blueberries, sliced banana, diced peach, diced apples, etc. Something like pineapple would also work, but it may be more effort depending on how you buy it (say, fresh vs canned).

I also highly recommend having something like yogurt. It’s a great way to keep things from being dry from too much granola or chia seeds. Oh, those are also both great in here as well. Oatmeal would also be a fair (and vegan) alternative to yogurt.

Nut butters, like almond butter, would also be a nice addition. Of course, whole nuts would be great as well. If you want something a bit more rich, chopped chocolate is an attractive option. Shaved coconut is also something to keep in mind, especially if you’re adding chocolate.

A drizzle of honey or maple syrup can be a nice finishing touch, but I’d say it’s less important than the main additions. However, a light drizzle can really elevate the whole meal. If you’re so inclined, you can also top with something like melted peanut butter instead.

For something less healthful and closer to a dessert, hot fudge is a strong option. Ice cream would technically work, but you really need to question your choices when your power bowl has ice cream in it.

For anyone curious, the pictured bowl has yogurt, granola, diced apple and chia seeds with a drizzle of honey.
